Syrinx 2.0 Beta Update
My original plan was to have a beta posted by now for Syrinx 2.0. However, due to a death in the family I have been doing a lot of traveling and have not had the time to dedicate to a beta. When I push out the beta I want to be able to stay on top of the bugs and feedback to make this release of Syrinx the best ever.
To make up for this delay, and to fill my downtime while traveling, I have added in some new features. Yes, sometimes circumstances require you to unlock your feature lock and push ahead. I think when everyone sees these extra features they won’t mind the delay, which was unfortunately unavoidable. Sort of a software release version of lemons to lemonade.
Really sorry to hear about the death. You need to take care of yourself and your family first.
I can’t wait to see the latest version. I haven’t used another Twitter client since I found Syrinx. Love it!
Are you now back to doing development on 2.0?
Syrinx 1.0 seems to pull in the most recent 20-or-so public tweets. Is there any way to request that it pulls further back in my personal timeline than that? Thanks.
@FloatingBones – I am working on 2.0 still, yes. While Syrinx 1.0 only pulls the last 20 replies, dms and messages, 2.0 will pull the last 200 of each.
Thanks.
Some wired number of back-tweets sounds like the wrong answer.
The best-in-class iPhone app Tweetie allows someone to grab an arbitrary number of back-tweets in a user-defined granularity (default is 20). User keeps re-grabbing as often as desired. That seems to be a superior way to grab back-history as desired
Also, tweetie saves the timestamp of the last tweet read in the previous session.
