Overview

The friends window lets you browse all the people you follow.  You can also get detailed user information, add and remove friends.

The friends window is opened through clicking the Friends toolbar button, using the Friends menu item located under the Window menu, or using the keyboard shortcut ⇧⌘F.  The friends window presents a list of all the people you follow alphabetized by last name.  The toolbar provides add, remove and info buttons as well as a search field.  The search field searches by both twitter name and the user’s given name.  When a user is selected, a button panel appears along the right edge with options to reply or direct message the selected user.  There is also a profile button that will bring you to the user’s twitter page.

Add/Remove

Adding and removing friends has never been this easy.  Instead of going out to the web, you can now change the people you follow right from Syrinx.  Clicking the plus button will present a sheet where you can enter the name of the user you wish to start following.  Upon success the user will appear in your list of friends.  Clicking the remove button will cause you to stop following the currently selected user.  You can also double click a user’s avatar image in either your timeline or a search results window and if you are not currently following them, the Friend’s window will prompt you to start following them.

To get more details on the selected user, select the User Info button.  This will launch the User Info panel that provides more information on that user.  Once the User Info panel is open, changing the selected user within the Friends window will User Info panel to display the selected user.
